Why Standardized Testing is Important?

Standardized tests, provide Universities with information about the students based on common assessment, and academic level. It provides the Universities with information regarding student readiness and ability to adapt to a Classroom with English as Language of Instruction, and Math skills to start studying careers with required skills.

For international students, it is important to prove their English proficiency. Some institutions may waive the English Proficiency Requirement if the student attended a High School that follows U.S. Curriculum. (School can provide a certificate).

Some others the requirement can be met from two different perspectives.

SAT or ACT: Are Standardized Tests used worldwide to validate students’ English (writing and Math Ability.

Is the most comment standardized test used for college application.

TOEFL, DUOLINGO, IELTS: tests that only evaluate the ENGLISH PROFICIENCY.

All KCP Students (as Internationals) are required of English proficiency Proof.

It depends on the University requirements. You can waive your English Proficiency Requirement, presenting your SAT Scores.

English Waiver Letter: Some Universities may accept a letter to waive the requirement for students who attended a 4 year institution with English as a first Language of instruction (like KCP). Please request for the English Proof Certificate to Angela Escobar: aescobar@kcparrish.edu.co

Duolingo / TOEFL / IELTS: English Proficiency Exam to measure the ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. The following abilities will be evaluated: Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading comprehension.

SAT: is a standardized test used by most universities to make admissions decisions. It evaluates three core areas: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing.

ACT: is a standardized test used by most universities to make admissions decisions. It evaluates four core areas: English, Reading, Math, and Science.

Testoptional means that students will have the opportunity to decide whether to submit or not their SAT or ACT exam scores in their application documents. It means all students application file will be reviewed fairly even if they don’t submit SAT or ACT’s score.

BUT Keep in mind, all international students MUST Submit an English Proficiency Proof.
